Tintin the Shark Submarine, 77 cm

Here is Professor Calculus’s famous shark-shaped submarine, featured on the cover of the twelfth album in the Tintin series, *Red Rackham’s Treasure*.

It is aboard this submarine that Tintin sets off in search of the wreck of *La Licorne*, the ship belonging to Captain Haddock’s ancestor, the Chevalier de Hadoque.

Hergé said he was inspired by Auguste Piccard’s bathyscaphe when he designed this submarine. It was, in fact, this inventor who inspired him to create the character of Professor Tryphon Tournesol.

This statuette is made from polychrome resin and ABS and measures 77 centimetres in length.
