D'Artagnan, *The Three Musketeers*

Description

*The Three Musketeers* is an animated television series which was broadcast in France from 12 September 1984 as part of the programme *Vitamine* on TF1. It was rebroadcast from 6 March 1988 as part of the programme *Club Dorothée* on TF1. Then, from 8 January 1989, it was shown as part of the programme *Amuse 3* on FR3.

D’Artagnan, having arrived in Paris from his native Gascony to become one of the King’s Musketeers, challenges Athos, Porthos and Aramis in turn. He arranges to meet them all at the same place for a duel. At the appointed time, they are interrupted by the Cardinal’s guards and, after giving them a sound thrashing, they become friends.

Later, on his journey to become a musketeer, he meets Constance, the Queen’s lady-in-waiting, and has to face off against Cardinal Richelieu’s men.
